Permanent Cosmetics

Beauty EverLasting eyebrows

Permanent Cosmetics is a cosmetic technique which employs permanent pigmentation of the upper layers of the skin (dermis) as a means of producing designs that resemble makeup,  permanently enhancing colors to the skin of the eyebrows, lips and eyeliner.  It has been widely used particularly in people who have lost  their eyebrow hair as a consequence of old age, disease, such as alopecia, chemotherapy or a genetic disturbance.  Paramedical is the term used to describe the process of disguising scars and white spots in the skin such as in vitiligo. It is also used to restore or enhance the breast’s areola, after breast surgery or reconstruction due to mastectomy.

Permanent Cosmetics, also know as permanent makeup, is a process where pigments, specially designed for the face, are inserted into the upper most dermal layer of the skin. Carefully applied, it is a safe and controlled method. The result is permanently water proof, hassle-free and always looking natural.

Permanent Cosmetics is an ancient and highly artistic occupation that has achieved professional standing within the  cosmetology, health care, and medical communities. As know as Micro pigmentation, it is a specialty that requires specific specialized education and training. Artistic and technical skill combined with extreme attention to tiny detail determines the final look of the inserted pigment. Other names describing related processes include derma pigmentation, micro pigmentation, permanent cosmetics and cosmetic tattooing.

Archaeological evidence indicates that permanent cosmetics was practiced among people in the late Stone Age, about 3300 B.C.  These markings are the earliest known evidence of permanent cosmetics.  More widely recognized are those found on Egyptian and Nubian mummies dating from about 2000 B.C.  Evidence of permanent cosmetics has also been found in China some 1000 years before Christ. The Incas, Mayans, Aztecs, Greeks and Egyptians are also among the cultures to use this practice more than 2000 years ago. To create beauty, and to designate status or prestige were among cultural reasons, both past and present.
